ICU Medical Technologies has been awarded in the Santander X Spain Award among more than 100 candidates, standing out for its innovation, competitive differential and business model.
KronoSafe®, the fixation system for Temporary Cardiac Pacing with Active Leads from ICU Medical Technologies, has once again shown its potential. On this occasion, Banco Santander, through Santander Universities and its Santander X Spain Award 2021 contest, has selected the start-up from Alicante as one of the top 3 of the 10 finalists among more than 100 initiatives. This programme aims to promote entrepreneurship in Spain to develop high-impact start-ups. The jury was made up of experts in entrepreneurship, investment, technology and marketing. They all valued the innovation and feasibility of the idea, the clear identification of the problem that KronoSafe® solves, and the realistic business model the Start-Up has structured. In addition, communication skills and defense of the project accomplished by Clara Gomez (COO and head of regulatory affairs), was decisive.
It should be highlighted that the recognition not only includes an economic prize, but also includes tools like experts mentoring or communications channels that will facilitate the international expansion of the project. Furthermore, the Spanish start-up will compete against the best projects from other countries of the Santander Universities network such as the United Kingdom, Argentina, Brazil, Chile or Mexico. ICU Medical Technologies will represent Spain in the international competition Santander X Global Award 2022 in order to achieve a greater impact.
The ICU Medical Technologies thanks the jury and Banco Santander for their interest in the KronoSafe® project. The Start-up team will take this opportunity to achieve its objective, reach the market and improve patient safety.
