Following the success of the first clinical study in which KronoSafe® was used in 20 patients, ICU Medical is preparing another study, this time multicenter and planned for 120 patients.
As a result, the start-up from Elche has already begun manufacturing the 120 KronoSafe® prototypes that will be needed. In addition, ICU Medical is going to count on the collaboration of SolidPerfil3D, the official partner of Formlabs in the Iberian Peninsula (one of the most important manufacturers of resin 3D printers worldwide). The objective of this company is to accompany other companies that regularly use additive manufacturing, as is the case of ICU Medical for the manufacture of prototypes of its medical device KronoSafe®. Therefore, and thanks to SolidPerfil3D’s experience of more than 5 years, both companies have reached an agreement through which SolidPerfil3D will help ICU Medical to optimize its printing programs and, in addition, will provide them with the means and raw material to manufacture more prototypes.
